The Story, Continued

So, this morning, someone came to check on my laptop.  It doesn’t look good.  The hard drive on it might just be toast.  He’s going to see what he can do about it.

In the meantime, I have a loaner laptop that I can use on my vacation.  When I get back, I’ll find out if my laptop is any good or if I have to shop for another one.  The only good thing about it all is that I don’t keep files on the laptop.  I use it when I go on vacation mainly to connect to the web so that I can blog, post photos of my vacation on Facebook, check emails, and the like.  So there will be no big loss.  In addition, laptops have actually gone down in price since I purchased the one that might be toast.  It has served me well through the years but it, like everything else, is replaceable.

So now my thoughts – and anxieties – turn to the weather.  I’m hoping to get out of Chicago’s Midway Airport with little to minimal problems/delays Sunday afternoon.  If the weather keeps moving as it has been, I should be all right.  I’ll freeze my rear end off in Orlando but that’s a story for another blog post.  🙂
