Another Appeal Weekend In The Books

Yesterday was a busy day with morning Mass, First Communion, a wedding, afternoon confessions, and evening Mass.  Then, today, I spoke at all the Masses (as well as being the main celebrant at two of them) because this weekend was CSA weekend.  The CSA (Catholic Services Appeal) is the annual diocesan fund drive and each parish is assessed a certain goal that we must meet.  Anything over and above the goal is returned to the parish 100%.

We are targeting last year’s and this year’s CSA rebate to go toward our church roof replacement.  It — along with replacing the lights in the interior of the church, insulating the roof, rewiring the church and addressing the sound system — is going to cost nearly two million dollars.  This is the last “big” project that I will supervise before my retirement next year (July 2026).

So, I’m pooped.  There was a lot to do but I think it went over well.

Now to see if I can sleep.  🙂

Oh, yeah, and May the Fourth Be With You.
