I have received a couple of calls from parishioners and one of our schools telling me that “I” have written them to ask for gift cards to help people in need. If you look at the return address of the person writing, you would see that it is not me. Please do not fall for these kinds of scams and, if anyone else asks you about this, let them know that it is not true.
I think some spoofer is trying to capitalize on the fact that I am the diocesan administrator and that there might be people quick to come to my aid, only to be taken but an unscrupulous crook.
It’s a sad, sad, sad world in which we live. -sigh-
