Each year, the Diocese of Gary celebrates a special Mass and dinner on the Feast of St. Andrew (November 30th). This year, the event was hosted at our parish, St. Thomas More, in Munster. We had around 46 young men who attended who are discerning a vocation in their lives.
Three people who have had some connection with our parish (two former associate pastors and a parishioner who is now a seminarian) shared their vocation stories with the group at dinner. It was very inspiring.
It is good to encourage people to ask God to show them what He wants them to do with their lives. Whether we are called to priesthood or religious life, marriage, or to remain a dedicated single person, we need to do what the Lord asks of us. That is the only way, truly, to find peace, happiness, and fulfillment in our lives.
Thanks to Fr. Rick Holy, Fr. Ben Ross, and Steven Caraher for sharing their stories with us this evening!
