We’re not supposed to work on Sundays, right? That’s the way I was raised. Then why are Sundays so busy for us priests? 🙂
I had the 10 and Noon Masses today and then had to go to the cathedral for a Mass at 2:00 p.m. The bishop was celebrating the Mass for Synod 2022. I felt bad because I could not stay for his talk after the Mass. I had to leave and get back to town for a wake service at a local funeral home.
After the wake service, I went out to get dinner. I went to Texas Roadhouse. The wait was an hour or I could sit at the bar immediately. I choose the bar seat. I got my dinner, read my Kindle, and then came back home.
I’ll be getting to bed soon so that I can be ready for another busy day tomorrow. I have morning Mass, a 10:00 a.m. funeral, and then I have to work on my portion of next Sunday’s bulletin as well as take a regular 5:00 p.m. Monday appointment. Going to be another long day.
Whatever patron saint that we have for long days, pray for us!
