A Magnificent Wedding

The wedding this afternoon was really magnificent.  The church was a really beautiful church.  Here’s an example of their stained glass windows:

The church was built in 1897 and these windows are most likely priceless.  They can’t recreate the colors used in the glass anymore.  That old-world craftsmanship has been lost.

But, I digress.

The wedding was between Devin Rowland and Kristin Harker.  Kristin’s dad was my principal at our parish school before he passed away a few years ago from an aggressive brain cancer.  We all felt his presence at the wedding, though.  He made a tape recording telling Kristin that he was going to walking with her up the aisle and her mom played the recording for her right before they came into the church.  How beautiful.

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Rowland!  Thank you for letting me be a part of your day.

Thanks to the Carmelite Fathers for taking the morning Mass today as well as afternoon confessions and the evening Mass.  I’m going to hit the sack.  I’ve got the 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Masses tomorrow.  I’m going to be beat.  😮
