AAAaahhhhh

Today was a good day.

I had my last consultors’ meeting (probably for good) and my last priests’ council meeting (at least for a year).

I have been a diocesan consultor for thirteen years now.  The typical term is five years, so I’ve done my time, though it was an honor to serve three bishops during that time (Bishop Melczek, Bishop Hying, and Bishop McClory).  Being a consultor, you are also a de facto member of priests’ council, the personnel board, and other diocesan committees.  Elections for priests’ council are coming up shortly but, by their rules, once you are off the council, you cannot be elected until you are off for a year.  So, I have at least a year of no meetings.

It feels good!
