I am writing this after beginning the cruise. I couldn’t do anything Tuesday because I had no internet access. Let’s access the memory cells:
Tuesday afternoon, slightly before 2:00 p.m., my car service picked me up for my ride to O’Hare. Traffic was really good and we got to O’Hare before 3:00 p.m.
Check in was a breeze and I found myself waiting for three and a half hours before boarding. The boarding process with American was also extremely smooth.
Five minutes before out scheduled push away from the gate, the doors had been locked, the ramp removed from the plane, and we were listening to the safety video. Halfway through, the video stopped and the captain came on and stated that the ramp was going to be brought back to the plane and instructed the attendants to disable the doors for entry.
He further explained that there was a slight problem. ALL of the bathrooms on the right side of the plane were not flushing. He said that he hoped it would be a quick fix. If your definition of quick is one hour, it was a quick fix. Heck, that was better than scraping the flight.
So, we took off an hour late. He made up a half hour of that in the air and we arrived in Barcelona Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m.
For more, look to tomorrow’s post. 🙂
