It’s Here . . . It’s Here . . . It’s Really Here!

The day I have waited for two years now has finally arrived.  This morning, I woke up after a great night’s sleep and went to the hotel’s restaurant.  The were serving a breakfast buffet for 15 euro.  Really good and fresh food, fresh yogurt (Dannon in bottles), and nice hot tea.

My driver was supposed to arrive for a 10:30 a.m. pickup (I had an appointment to board the ship at 11:30 a.m.)  I went down to the front desk at 10:10 a.m. to wait for him.  You know me, I’m always early.  Well, so is he.  He arrived at 10:15 a.m. with a sign with my name.  I went to him and we got into his car.  Halfway there, I heard him take a phone call.  A person on the other line said that he was waiting at his hotel for pick up!  Somehow, they double-booked him.  He called the office and they straightened it out and got someone to the other guy.

Our ride was otherwise uneventful and we arrived at the ship at 10:45 a.m.  I was allowed to get into line even though my appointment wasn’t until 11:30 a.m.  Long story short, I was on board by 11:00 a.m.

Had lunch at a specialty restaurant while waiting for the rooms to be open and then went to my room.  My attendant brought my luggage to me at 1:30 p.m. (the earliest I’ve ever received it!) so, by 2:00 p.m., I was unpacked and settled.

I had dinner and then went to the 8:00 p.m. show. of One Sky.  I found someone on YouTube who videoed it if you would like to see it.

After the show, I came back to my stateroom and watched us sail away.  We left three hours late because the fuel barge was late in arriving to fill up the ship’s tanks.

Now, it’s 10:30 p.m. ship’s time and I’m exhausted.  I’m going to hit the sack.  Tomorrow, Palma de Mallorca.

g’night
