Today was Mendenhall glacier day! It was supposed to begin with a cruise up Endicott Arm to see Dawes glacier. However, the captain announced at 6:15 a.m. that he was encountering too many ice flows that were causing him to slow down the ship considerably. We would not be able to make Dawes glacier and get to Juneau on time so he turned the ship around. That’s okay because, as I said, we got Mendenhall glacier.
After visiting the glacier, we went to a salmon bake. The salmon came with a butter/brown sugar glaze that was out of this world!
When we got back to the ship, I had a chance to see Sonic Odyssey in the main theatre. WHAT A SHOW!
We lose an hour of sleep tonight as we sail back our of Alaskan waters toward Seattle.
It’s been a long but wonderful day. I’m ready to hit the sack. g’night
