A Public Service Announcement

I didn’t have an entry for yesterday.  There was a very good reason for that.  I was in the hospital.

Hospital?  Yes.

Public Service Announcement?  Yes – don’t take four vaccines at the same time.

That was what I did Friday morning.  The pharmacist said that it would be safe to take the four together and I thought, what the heck, let’s get it over at one time.

At 2:00 a.m., I woke up shivering violently.  I was also dizzy and my mouth was very dry.  I was dehydrating.  The doctors that I saw at the hospital all said the same thing.  At my age, 70 in October, don’t do that again.  The combo of the four vaccines produced a “storm” in my immune system.

My blood oxygen level was the most concerning to them and that was what caused me to be admitted overnight for observation.  However, after the entire day on Friday having received IV fluids, drinking lots of water, and resting up, my stamina came back and my vital signs were somewhere between good and very good.  BP 118/68 and o2 sat levels at 98%.  Woo hoo.

Because they were concerned with my low o2 levels upon admission, they did a CT scan to make sure there were no blood clots in my lungs.  No clots.  However they visualized mild emphysema in the upper lobes of the lungs and found stones in my gall bladder.

So, if you are getting older, lay off multi doses of vaccines.  They have the potential to wreak havoc on you.  Get ’em one at a time instead.

That is all…
