Fr. Brian and I made wonderful time coming to St. Meinrad Archabbey Guesthouse this afternoon. We left his parish a little after Noon and ended up in St. Meinrad at 5:15 p.m. The traffic was moving well and the roads were clear. My new car took to the road like a champ.
When we checked in, the employee at the front desk gave Fr. Brian his envelope and said, “You’re in room 109”. That was the room assigned when I booked the retreat house several months ago.
Then, she started handing me my envelope and I said, “And I’m in 111.” She said, “No”, and explained that someone was in 111 yesterday and they do not have housekeeping on Sundays so I was assigned to 201. I was happy because I like the second floor better.
However, when I went upstairs, I found out 201 is a “suite”. Nice!
Maybe I should go out and purchase a lottery ticket. 🙂
