Merry Christmas!

I know, it’s only December 5th.  However, for a short time today, it was Christmas at the Pastoral Center.  We had Mass at 11:30 a.m. and, immediately after Mass, we went into the large hall and had a Christmas luncheon and played some Christmas games.  It was a really nice afternoon.

The Christmas “gift” for the employees was that, at 3:00 p.m. when everything was finished, I told them that they could go home early.  I got a big “Yay!” out of that proclamation.

On the way home, I stopped at the car wash to get rid of all the dirt, bugs, and bird poop that I accumulated driving to and from Indianapolis earlier this week.  Then, I went to the gas station and filled up as I was running low.  After that, I came home and have been doing something I have not had much of a chance to do thus far this week:  rest.

As soon as I hit the “publish” button on this blog post, I’m calling it a day and going to bed.  Tomorrow will be moderately busy, finishing up with a wake service for my Saturday funeral.  I want to be fresh and ready to meet the family.

So, for now, I wish you a Merry Christmas (early) and a happy bedtime!
