Cookies. That’s the thing most people think about as soon as they hear the words “Girl Scouts.” They think thin mints, tagalongs, and other delightful culinary masterpieces.
However, the Girl Scouts are more than cookies. They are about service. They are about values. They are about shaping young women. As part of scouting, just as in their counterpart, the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts have a religious emblem program. Girls can earn different medals and badges as they reflect upon their faith.
This morning, at the 10:00 a.m. Mass, several girls received their medals and patches. Some will receive medals at the diocesan Mass with Bishop McClory.
Congratulations to all the girls who worked hard to earn their religious awards this spring. Keep up the good work!
P.S. And, by the way, please keep selling those cookies! 🙂
