Aunt Jemima brand will change its name and logo. Reviews and canceling of Mrs. Butterworth’s and Uncle Ben’s. It seems so crazy.
And yesterday, we learned that Dr. Seuss was dropped from Read America’s reading list. This is just insane.
I — and MANY MANY children — became excited about reading when I was exposed to Dr. Seuss books. Not only was the material fresh and fun, it also taught rather profound lessons.
We have to quit erasing the past. We should learn from the past and move on from it, taking what was rich in it and applying it to a grand, new future.
