Today was a busy one. It was supposed to be a “sleep in” (not setting an alarm) kind of day for me. However, I had both morning Masses instead as the Carmelite Fathers are in quarantine right now. Our chapel was full at the 6:30 a.m. Mass because people who usually go to the Carmelite Shrine came to our parish as the shrine is also closed for a week due to their quarantine.
I had the 9:00 a.m. Mass as well. That was followed by a fair amount of office work until I left around 11:00 a.m. to take Fr. Brian out to lunch for his birthday. Happy Birthday, Brian!
After lunch, we headed to the Pastoral Center for a Priests’ Council meeting. It began at 1:00 p.m. and finished just shy of 3:00 p.m. When it was finished, I came home and did a little more office work.
Then, I came back to the house and turned on my television. I went to YouTube and selected a video of quiet classical music against a background of a crackling fireplace. All the ambience and none of the smoke. Ah, what bliss. 🙂
