This morning, after my 8:30 a.m. Mass, I jumped in my car and drove to Michigan City to celebrate a funeral Mass for a young man who used to serve for me when I was the pastor at Queen of All Saints. He was only thirty-six years old. Some years ago, he suffered a traumatic brain injury. He ended up taking his life.
We just don’t always know everything about a person. They may look fine but, within, they wrestle with things that often weigh them down.
If you know someone who is despondent, reach out to help them. If you are one who is despondent, reach out for help. Pray for those who wrestle with things in silence that they might receive the help that they need.
