I’ve had a couple of people teasing me for the past week, asking me if I were counting down the hours to vacation. I told them quite honestly, “No”. I’m not a countdowner. Well, I wasn’t a countdowner . . . until today.
Today was a busy day for me. I got work done on Pastor’s Pages for the parish bulletin for the next three weekends. I wrote the daily reflections through next week (one, next Saturday, the 22nd, accidentally sent today — well, they’re going to get it again next Saturday because I’m not rewriting it. 🙂 ). I also got all sorts of office work done as well as the lector sheets for this weekend’s Masses.
With those tasks completed, there is nothing more to do except go through tomorrow, pack tomorrow evening, and leave for vacation Sunday morning after my 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Masses.
Yes. Now I’m getting excited.
It will only be for the week. I’ll be back Friday evening. But it will be good to get away for a few days and decompress from all the work of the latter part of Lent and Holy Week.
Independence of the Seas, I’m coming!
Here is a “room tour” of cabin 6640, a “hump cabin” (it’s on the hump of the ship in the center of the ship). I include this because this is more or less my room. It’s on the six deck. I’m on deck nine, 9640, so mine’s the same room, just three decks higher. Enjoy.
