Yesterday, I was at Holy Angels Cathedral for the ordination of Fathers Steven Caraher and Zachary Glick. It was a beautiful day filled with a LOT of joy. I am so proud of these two new priests. They have a lot to offer to the people of God.
This morning, Fr. Steven had his First Mass at our parish. He celebrated the 10:00 a.m. Mass. After Communion, the choir did a Communion Meditation. It was a commissioned piece based on a favorite prayer of his that he says daily. To say that he was surprised doesn’t begin to describe it. We presented him with the printed music for the piece. Anyone who purchases this piece in the future from the composer will see, on the first page, that it was a commissioned work for the celebration of Fr. Steven Caraher’s ordination to the priesthood.
I think that was a fitting gift to a fine musician and, now, a fine priest!
Congratulations, Fr. Steven.
