This weekend flew by and, to be really honest with you, I am just not sure where it went.
Let’s start with Friday. Friday was a relatively busy day for me but very manageable. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. That is, until Friday evening. I decided to go to a local theatre to see some of my parishioners in a Rodgers and Hammerstein production of Once Upon A Mattress. I generally do not stay up that late. I went to the 8:00 p.m. showing and did not leave there until 10:45 p.m. I got back home and to bed around 11:30 p.m.
So, when Saturday morning came around, I was a bit tired from my night out. I had to get up for the morning Mass (it was my weekend to do the 8:30 a.m. Mass). After Mass, I got a lot of office work done. Fr. Jordan and I went out to lunch at 11:30 a.m. and when I came home, I dropped him off at the house and then turned around and went to visit my aunt.
After seeing my aunt, I came back to the parish in time for afternoon confessions. After confessions, I thought I would have a lazy evening to make up for the night before. That was before I remembered that I had our parish festival committee appreciation dinner party to attend. I went and said hello to everybody who attended, thanking them for their help in making this year’s festival a success. The party began at 6:30 p.m. Around 8:00 p.m., I left to go to the rectory. But first, I had to stop by the drug store to pick up a prescription and then go to the gas station because I was almost out of gas. I got home and hit the sack.
This morning, I had the 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon Masses. Afterward, I went out to lunch and then came back to the rectory to rest. Instead, I got on my computer and got some additional office work done. So, now, I am ready to call it a night. I am still tired and have to get up really early for the 6:30 a.m. Mass. I do not know where the weekend went. It’s Sunday night and I have to begin all over again tomorrow morning.
Make it stop! 🙂
