Today was not an extremely hectic day. It was, however, a “constant” day. There was one thing after another after another after another. My final appointment of the day just left and I decided to bring my laptop out to the deck and type outside while I enjoy the bit of a breeze that we have a listen to the chattering of my resident birds. About a half hour ago, I put some fresh fruit on their bird stoop and they are going crazy enjoying it and taking it in to their young.
I had the 6:30 a.m. Mass this morning. Afterward, I worked on a couple of daily reflections as well as our Knights of Columbus’ August Newsletter. When that was finished and approved by the Grand Knight, I sent it out on the email list.
Those tasks completed, I started doing other office work, took a walk around the park with one of my staff members (we are going to begin walking each day) and then headed to the house for lunch.
When I got back to the office, a friend texted and asked if I was available for a visit. When I said yes, the text was followed by “What do you want from Dairy Queen?” Hmmmm. Good thing I took that walk. 🙂 The small chocolate milkshake was really good but the company was even better.
That brought me to our weekly Monday afternoon building meeting. We pretty much know now the schedule for when our church is going to be shut down and services moved to the gym. That news is not going to make a couple of brides happy. I have to try to see what I can do about that situation. Always something coming up in building projects.
After the meeting, I ran to the house for a quick dinner (fresh tomatoes, avocado, and peaches. Yum!) I got back to the office for a 6:00 p.m. meeting. We actually moved the meeting to the back deck because the weather was so nice and my appointment had been stuck inside all day.
So, now, I finish up my thoughts about this full day, sign off on my blog, and sit back for a while to watch my birds and listen to them chirp. All in all, life is good!
