Tonight was the Lenten Penance Service at our parish. Well, I should say, confessions were heard. We had a penance service planned; but, some of the priests were not going to be able to come. Therefore, I went into “panic mode” and came up with a different plan.
As soon as the visiting priests arrived, they saw a sign in the sacristy asking them to vest and go immediately to a station to begin hearing confessions. Eight of us heard confessions for a least an hour apiece. I heard confessions for an hour and a half.
Needless to say, I’m tired right now and have to get up early tomorrow for the 6:30 a.m. Mass and then leave for a Clergy Study Day. I am finally getting to bed.
