Today was a bit of an errand day. I went shopping for a few personal items/toiletries that I will need for my time away next week.
Sunday, after my morning Masses, I am going to St. Meinrad Archabbey Guesthouse for a week’s retreat. Each year, all priests, deacons, and religious are mandated by Canon Law to take five days away so that we can focus on our spiritual lives in a restful, peaceful environment.
The diocese has our annual retreat for priests each summer during the week of our parish’s festival so I always take a week in July to get away for retreat.
Tomorrow evening, I will pack up, hit the sack, and be ready for morning duties on Sunday. Then, it’s hit the road, Jack…
