Cartagena

We arrived in Cartagena this morning at 8:00 a.m.  It was cool/cold and rainy (most of the day).  I stayed on board initially so that I could go to the morning Mass at 10:30 a.m.  After Mass, I was going to leave and when I check out of the ship, I saw many people coming back and they were soaked.  It was raining and cold and right then and there I elected to stay on the ship.  So I turned around and checked back in.  🙂

Here is a picture of the elevator foyer taken from Deck 5

This afternoon, we heard the news about Malaga.  It seems that there is a national bus driver strike tomorrow.  All excursions (except two walking excursions) have been canceled because of the lack of transportation.  We were warned to take extra time to make sure we get back if we try to use taxis as they will be over busy tomorrow.

At the sail away from Cartagena, it was chilly and damp.

By the time we got out of port, you could see the dark and drain ahead of us.

Malaga is out final port in Europe.  When we leave tomorrow, we have eight sea days before arriving in Nassau, Bahamas.  At this point in time, it’s supposed to quit raining an hour before we arrive at port and begin raining an hour after we leave port.  The day itself is supposed to be cloudy and cold.  That’s what jackets are for.

I’ll let you know how it all unfolds.

g’night
