Day Twelve – An Evacuation And Then On To Nassau

This morning started with a beautiful sun coming up.

In the morning, we had a medical evacuation from the ship.  The passenger was taken to Bermuda in one of our lifeboats and when the boat came back, we left to continue our cruise toward Nassau.

At Noon, we had our Captain’s Report:

At 8:00 a.m., we were outside the pilot station at Bermuda.

We performed a medical evacuation using one of our lifeboats. It followed the pilot boat to shore and transferred the passenger to am ambulance for transport to the hospital. The captain had been informed that the passenger is fine and doing well.

Bermuda is now 45 nautical miles behind us (almost 52 miles).

We have sailed 3,600 miles since leaving Malaga.

The seas here are very deep at 14,000 feet. You read that correctly. 14,000 feet.

We are in our way to Nassau. If everything goes to plan, we’ll be there Wednesday morning.

Our present conditions are cloudy skies, 9 foot seas, and 70 degrees. The weather will remain. Later, the winds will pick up to 30 knots (34 1/2 mph).

Tomorrow will be more windy, but following winds.

That was the noon report.

This evening, the Aqua Theater was alight with the show Aqua 80’s.  It’s a fantastic show.  I found a full show performance of it on YouTube for you to enjoy.

Tomorrow is our last full sea day.  Tonight, we get treated to our last time change.  We get an extra hour of sleep and that will put us on Eastern Standard Time.
