Those Darn Canadian Fires

Our unhealthy air quality alert has been extended another day and it is really needed.  I’ve been puffing on my inhaler the past couple of days because I dared to go outside for brief periods of time.  You can look outside and see the haze/smoke in the air.  If you have lung problems at all, please consider staying indoors.  Don’t be stupid like me and venture outdoors.  😮

On a happier note, one of the reasons that I ventured out today was to go to the parish to pick up something that a parishioner left for me: tons of pictures from my last Mass on June 30th as well as the staff luncheon June 30th.  Thank you, Rob Mangus, for leaving so many memories for me.  Below is a group picture of the staff members who were able to attend the last lunch with me on June 30th.  After the lunch, I packed my bags pre-flight — oops, different song — I jumped in my car and drove away from the parish for the last time as pastor.  It was definitely bittersweet and I am still having so many memories swirl through my head.  I laugh and I cry and I wonder what comes next.
