We woke up to a very pretty morning
You can see that the seas were already building. They didn’t get too terribly bad, though. About 6-10 foot waves throughout the day. The winds pushing from the port side also had the ship doing a slow roll all day and is still happening. The ship will rock us all to sleep tonight.
Since today ended up being a non-port day, I decided to pay for a “shore excursion”. I had lunch at Johnny Rockets. It’s a pay-for restaurant on board. Almost $18 including tip for whatever you wanted. I had chili, a burger with onion rings, and a strawberry sundae for dessert. Yum, yum, yum. We were even entertained with a song and dance from the staff. 🙂
After dinner, I went to the theater for the evening’s show, Evolution: Motown. Okay, let me ask, what would you think? If you cruise enough, you know that the singers and dancers put on many themed production shows. I thought that I was going to watch the ship’s singers do just that. No. It was actually a group of four men who were accompanied by the ship’s band and who call themselves Evolution: Motown. They took us through songs of the 60’s-present beginning with blues and moving on to the Motown experience as we all knew it. They were very energetic and were great performers. Kudos, guys!
I said earlier that the ship will be rocking us to sleep tonight. Speaking of sleep, I came back to my stateroom after the show and found this announcement in my keycard slot in my door:
An extra hour of sleep tonight. I’ll take it. And so, I bid you a fond adieu.
