It was a bit of a long day today.
We got out of Newark about 45 minutes late. There was apparently a problem with the plane in Chicago and they had to replace the plane with another.
Upon arrival in Newark, they turned the plane around pretty quick and we left. The weather was still overcast although they were predicting thunderstorms as we were leaving.
The captain made up almost all of the time on the way back to Chicago. We only landed five minutes later than originally scheduled.
AND THEN…
There was no gate for us. We waited forty-five minutes before getting in to a gate.
Traffic on the expressway wasn’t too bad. I got back home about 6:30 p.m.
From there, I went grocery shopping and did a little meal prep for the week.
Then I messaged everybody and let them know I got home safe and sound.
Now, it’s time to go to bed. I’m beat and I’m not setting any alarm for tomorrow. I’ll get up if and when I get up.
