A week from today, I will celebrate the 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Masses and then head to Midway Airport for a flight to Orlando. I will stay overnight at the Hyatt Hotel at Orlando Airport and then, on Monday, May 6, will board a bus for Port Canaveral and a Monday to Friday cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas to the Bahamas (Nassau and Cococay). All the new amenities on Cococay should be open by that time.
Before you ask, no, I’m not going to do the zip line. However, I do have a reservation for the helium balloon so that I can go up and get pictures of the “new” island.
Just the thought of a few days away on the ocean are enough to keep me going through this week! 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so happy for you! It’s been almost 66 years since I was in Nassau with my husband Frank on our honeymoon. Six weeks after he died I was scheduled to cruise to Nassau with Dee Dee and Dick Reffkin, so my son Bob took his father’s ticket and we did the cruise… going to what had been the Fort Montague hotel to reminisce. It was no longer open, and was overgrown, but two white flowers were there and I took them… only to have one die before we returned to the ship. Memories…
