When I got to the Pastoral Center this morning, I had to address a few different issues, some a little more weighty than others. In the end, it’s all well and good though.
The high point of the day was when I left the Pastoral Center a little before 12:30 p.m. to head for Hobart Mercy Hospital. As Administrator of the Diocese, I blessed their brand new surgical floor. It is a twenty bed, single room, unit that will house those who are recovering after orthopedic surgery. The rooms are really spacious and well appointed. I also like the fact that all the showers are handicapped walk-in showers so there is no stumbling involved.
As I blessed the unit, I also prayed for all the doctors, nurses, techs, aides, and patients who will be in those rooms.
Afterward, I thanked the staff for all that they do for the patients. It was nice to be there and be able to thank them for all that they do.
