Mexican Riviera 2026 – Day Seven

It was a great day today.  At 6:30 a.m., we found ourselves nearing the port in Ensenada.

I didn’t go to breakfast because we needed to meet in the theater at 8:30 a.m. for our excursion, an open top bus tour of Ensenada.  The bus, by the way, is the only one of its kind in Ensenada.

There were lots of things to see in Ensenada.  One of the things that caught our eye, of course, was our ship from the distance.  The Serenade of the Seas is a really fine ship, kept up well for its age and with a crew that cares about her passengers.

After the tour, we had a little over an hour in town to shop.  I purchased candies for the crew and a few bottles of vanilla to bring home with me.  Since I had some time left, I went to a restaurant that our guide recommended to have fish tacos for a late breakfast/early lunch.  They.  Were.  Phenomenal!  Sea bass tacos.

When we returned to the ship at 11:00 a.m., I went up to the Windjammer (buffet).  NO, not to eat.  The tacos filled me up.  But I went for ice so that I could have a Diet Cherry Coke (actually Diet Coke that I flavored with sugar free cherry syrup).  Then I went to my balcony to enjoy the afternoon.

I did some pre-packing and got my tip envelopes together for my stateroom steward and dining room servers.

I received a reminder that we set clocks back tonight.  An extra hour of sleep.  I’ll take it!

I would so do this cruise again.  It was relaxing, the crew were cheerful and helpful, and it was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday week.

After dinner, I came back to my room to pack up and put my suitcase outside the door to be taken down in the hold and placed in the terminal in San Diego tomorrow morning.  When our luggage group number is called tomorrow, we have to go to the theater and meet with Customs & Border Protection to be cleared before we disembark the ship.

Well, I’m going to get some sleep.  The ship will be partying the night away for Halloween but tomorrow will be a long travel day for me.  I’ll get up around 5:00 a.m., my flight takes off around 1:30 p.m., and I won’t arrive at O’Hare (because of the time difference) until around 7:30 p.m.  I’m going to be beat tomorrow night. 😮

Thanks for following along on my journey this week.

g’night
