For people younger than I, when they hear ninety-nine, they may think of the hit song, “99 Luft Balloons”. For me, ninety-nine is always the bottles of beer song that drove parents, chaperones, teachers, and a whole host of others nuts.
Today, ninety-nine has another significance. If he were still alive, my dad would have turned ninety-nine today. He missed the mark by nineteen years; however, he would have been ninety-nine today.
So, to my dad, I say, Happy Birthday. You can eat anything you want now without worrying about what it will do to your health. So, party on, dude!
