Last Full Day

Today was the last full day of this week’s cruise.  I say “this week’s” because tomorrow I check in to the Hampton in Port Canaveral for the weekend and then board the Utopia of the Seas next Monday for a M-F cruise.  I’m not quite done with my spring vacation.  🙂

When we got to Coco Cay, we disembarked.  We were able to make it on time, by the way.  Last night, around midnight, the ship diverted to Miami for a medical disembarkation.  However, the captain put pedal to the metal and we arrived at our schedule time.

We shared the pier with the Icon of the Seas.  Our ship looked puny next to her.  The Explorer of the Seas has a capacity for 3,286 (double occupancy) and can hold up to 4,290 guests at maximum capacity. The ship also carries approximately 1,185 crew members.  The Icon of the Seas (presently, the Icon series of ships are the largest in the world) has a maximum capacity of 7,600 passengers. When accounting for double occupancy, the ship holds 5,610 guests. Including the 2,350 crew members, the total capacity of the world’s largest cruise ship is nearly 10,000 people.  Wow!

After dinner, I came back to my stateroom and packed my check in luggage.  I put it outside my room door.  It will be picked up around 10:00 p.m., taken to the hold, and taken off the ship tomorrow morning and place in an area reflecting its number:  20.  I’m part of Group 20 to get off the ship tomorrow.  Tentative time for disembarking is 8:45 a.m.

I will pick up a shuttle bus and head to the Hampton Inn & Suites Port Canaveral until Monday morning.

I skipped tonight’s show so that I could pack in leisure and hit the sack early.  More tomorrow, my friends.
