I’ve Made My Peace

Parting is such sweet sorrow.  I’ve made my peace with this vacation and Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas.  It was a great week’s vacation and, to be honest, there is still much to this ship that I did not explore.  You see, I came on this vacation to relax not to get hyped up.  In the past, I’ve scoured every inch of a ship taking picture after picture.  There are some parts of this ship that I did not even visit.  I didn’t want to rush it.  I’ll be back on it sometime.  Well, actually, April of 2023 for my post-Easter cruise.  Same ship, same stateroom.  That’s the way I roll.  I’ll explore other parts of the ship then.  There will still be surprises for me. 🙂

The size of the ship impresses me.  While I really like the Oasis Class ships, I find that I like this Freedom Class as well.  There are a lot of people on board but there are plenty of places to keep them all so that you don’t feel as if you’re overcrowded.  Of course, I’m not the typical cruiser that does the typical cruiser thing.  If I were, I might feel crowded.  But I don’t hang out at the pool or the bars.  I walk parts of the ship less traveled, walk the places we make port, and sit on my balcony to watch the water.  That brings me peace.

Do I want to go back to the parish tomorrow?  Of course not.  I’d stay here in a heartbeat.  Am I ready to go back and get to work again?  Of course.  This week gave me the rest and relaxation that I needed.  Many thanks, Royal Caribbean, for a week done well!
